Shayla was born and raised in St. George, Utah, and began her academic journey at Utah Tech University, where she earned her associate degree with high honors and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing magna cum laude.
Shortly after completing her BSN, Shayla moved to South Florida with her husband to attend the University of Miami, where she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2025. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.Her doctoral scholarly project on improving postoperative outcomes in pituitary surgery patients emphasized the critical role of patient education, empowerment, and advocacy in improving health outcomes and preventing complications.

Experience and Life
Throughout her career as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner, Shayla has worked in addiction medicine within medication-assisted treatment clinics, caring for patients with complex medical needs, including acute and chronic pain.That experience strengthened her ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while balancing effective pain management with safe prescribing practices.She is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life and excited for her new career in pain management. Outside of work, Shayla enjoys the outdoors, archery, exercising, and cooking.
