Desert Pain's Josh Willaims Recognized as 2024 Medical Professional of the Year
Josh Williams, a physician assistant-certified with Desert Pain Specialists’ Cedar City team, has been recognized by the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce as 2024 Medical Professional of the Year. Williams will receive his award at the 74th annual Best of Cedar City Awards Gala on Thursday, March 7.
Each year, members of the community nominate worthy contenders for each of the 13 categories in the Best of Cedar City Awards. Nominees are then voted on by chamber of commerce members, and one winner from each category is announced and recognized at the gala.
“I’m just very humbled by this,” Williams said. “There are a lot of great providers in the area. To be nominated and selected is truly an honor.”

With over a decade of experience in chiropractic and sports medicine, Williams brings comprehensive insight into musculoskeletal and joint issues to Desert Pain. He joined the Cedar City office in early 2022, drawing upon his varied medical background to better serve local patients.
Williams, a Utah native, holds a doctor of chiropractic degree as well as a master’s degree in sports science and rehabilitation from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri. He operated a private practice, Cedar City Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, for six years while also serving as the official chiropractor of Southern Utah University Athletics.
After selling his clinic in 2018, Williams enrolled in the University of Utah’s physician assistant program. He was drawn to the field of pain management because of the opportunities it provides to build lasting relationships with patients.
Williams mainly sees patients in Cedar City, but he also travels to Desert Pain’s satellite offices in surrounding areas like Delta and Fillmore. In many of these rural communities, Desert Pain is the only resource available for pain management.
“I’m blessed to be able to work with great people,” he said. “It’s exciting to see patients get a lot of relief from the things we do for them.”
Williams lives in Enoch, a place he says truly feels like home, with his wife of 17 years and their four children. He’s a fan of the SUU Thunderbirds, catching games whenever he has a chance. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and coaching his kids’ sports teams.
“This is such a great community to be a part of,” he said. “We’re planning on staying here the rest of our lives. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”
